I am just touching base to clarify details about the exciting upcoming Halloween events. 😊
🎃 The Family Halloween Dance is tomorrow in the evening - Thursday, October 24th @ 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
Students will not be wearing costumes to school tomorrow.
🎃 Riverstone will be celebrating Halloween next week, on Thursday, October 31st.
Students are invited to dress up in their costumes on this day.
When selecting costumes for school, please remember that Riverstone is a K-8 school, therefore we need to be extra mindful of not wearing costumes that might scare our younger students. We also ask that if your costume has any prop weapons that those be left at home. If your child has a mask that is part of their costume, they will be allowed to wear it for the costume parade and pictures, but will be asked to take it off for the rest of the day.
🎃 Halloween Parade - Thursday, October 31st @ 12:45 pm.
Families are welcome to watch if they would like to. If you would like to come, simply sign in at the office and there will be an area at the center stairwell/glass gym wall for parents to watch all their little ghosts and goblins parade by. The parade will begin at 12:45 and will be about half an hour long. 😊
🎃 October Home Reading Goal - Halloween Class Party
Our October home reading goal is to read 300 nights as a class to earn a Halloween class party! We are getting so close to our goal! Please continue encouraging your child to read and record in their home reading calendar book.
Our home reading check is on Monday, October 28th. If we reach our goal, I will send out further details regarding our Halloween class party next week.
🎃 Halloween Treat Information
Treats for special occasions are always welcome but are not an obligation! If you enjoy preparing treats for our kiddos, they will most definitely be appreciated! However, please do not feel pressure to. I do not send a formal sign up page, but feel free to pick a season/holiday you really enjoy and send something during that particular opportunity (Halloween, Christmas, etc). We encourage and strive for balanced, healthy snacks so a mixture of sweet treats and fruits/veggies are welcome.
Please remember to be mindful that our classroom is Nut-Free and Kiwi-Free.
We also have some students who have dairy and egg allergies, so please ensure all food items are labeled with an ingredient list. I will provide plates, cutlery, and napkins. Thank you in advance for any contributions you may make this year!
🎃 Please Note - Sadly, I will be away from the school on Halloween day. I was invited to represent our school as a teacher leader at a special presentation and therefore I will be pulled away from the school all day. I truly love Halloween so I will be so sad to miss all of the fun at school! Luckily, I was able to book a great substitute teacher and the kids will be able to enjoy a fun-filled day! If you have any special notes for your child for Halloween day, please let me know in advance if possible, or phone into the office on that day if needed.
Thank you & take care! 😊
