Here are some updates for our class:
Today I sent home a baggie with many important items for the month of February. Here is a quick summary of what was included:
🍫 You have received a yellow sheet explaining the chocolate fundraiser for our playground. If your family would like to participate, please fill out and return the bottom portion of the yellow sheet. Thank you in advance for your support!
📅 I have also included an at-a-glance calendar page for the month of February to help organize important dates this month.
📚 A copy of our new February home reading goal has been included as well. Students are encouraged to go for the gold for this individualized goal! Our January home reading goal agenda check will be tomorrow. Fingers crossed we were able to work together to earn a pajama party!
💗 Valentine's Day is approaching and I have included a class list if your child would like to participate in our card exchange.
📖 Scholastic book orders have also been sent home for the month of February. They will be due on Friday, February 9th. As always, online orders, cheques, and cash are all accepted.

📝 Learning Updates:
Language Arts - We have been focusing on generating creative beginnings for our stories! We have practiced using sound words, action words, dialogue/talking, and thoughts and feelings in our writing. We have a very imaginative and creative bunch in 3F! It is so exciting to see our young writers flourish! As always, word sorts, cursive writing, and daily reading are a primary focus of our day. Ask your kiddo what they are reading and writing about at school!
Math - We are continuing to strengthen our number sense while working on addition and subtraction strategies. We are using base ten models to practice the skill of regrouping while adding and subtracting.
Science - Last week students shared their amazing sound gadget projects. Everyone had the opportunity to present their sound gadget to the class and explain how they made it, what materials they used and why, as well as how it makes sound, changes pitch, and changes volume. It was wonderful to see the pride the kiddos had towards their hard work and creativity. Thank you for all of your support at home with hot glue guns, etc.
Social - We are wrapping up our study of India this week! Students will be creating a travel brochure and a postcard from India to summarize their learning!
Thank you & take care!
